Example 1: Portal Frame with Straight Section 

Problem:

To assess the accuracy of MKAPEB in static analysis, a portal frame was modeled, as represented in the figure below. The frame consists of HEB600 columns and HEB400 rafters, all made of S275 steel.

The loads were applied directly to the members, as illustrated in the figure below.

Results:

The support reactions as well as the displacement of the roof apex were evaluated and compared across MKAPEB and SAP2000.
